From planning and design to construction and materials, we'll walk you through every step of the process to help you create a beautiful deck.

Step 2: Determine Your Budget

Budgeting is one of the most important steps in a deck project. A predetermined budget will help dictate many aspects of the deck design. The first thing that will be impacted by your budget is the size of the deck. The larger the deck is the more expensive it will be. The second aspect of a deck project that is impacted by budget is the design. A larger budget will allow for a more elaborate deck design, which may include multiple tiers and pergolas. Another aspect of a deck project that will be impacted by budget is the decking material. A larger budget will allow for a longer lasting, low maintenance material that looks more luxurious than a wood deck. Finally, understanding your own capabilities plays a significant part in your final budget. Mistakes can cost time and money and taking into consideration your potential need for professional (contractor) help is a very important part of setting your budget.

Your Build-It-Better Coach has many tools available to help you plan a deck project budget so schedule an appointment soon!
