The Maximum Duty Rating of a ladder is the maximum safe working load of the ladder. This means the weight of the worker, their clothing, tools and equipment. This Type 2 ladder has a duty rating of 225 pounds (102.2 kg). Aluminum ladders are lightweight and inexpensive (compared to fiberglass). They will conduct electricity and should not be used for electrical work or in proximity to electrical wires. Maximum safe reach for a 6 ft step ladder is approx 10 ft for a typical user.
