The first step in building with Turkstra is to provide you with the proper resources. Resource number one is an account manager. An account manager will be your point of contact throughout each facet of your project. Your first meeting with your account manager will ensure that they understand your vision and can properly support you throughout the rest of your project in the phases below.
Phase One
Permit Package & Design
Permit packages are engineered drawings that comply with code and satisfy building requirements from your municipality's building authorities. These documents are required in order to gain approval for a construction project.
Phase Two
Project Timeline
A building project can be complex, and with multiple facets and different time frames, an accurate timeline depiction should be managed. It is essential to note the items that can take time outside of the labour itself, such as servicing your property, product lead times, delivery, and final inspections.

Trade Selection
Finding contractors to complete your project can be a pain. Turkstra has a vast professional network of local contractors and trade businesses to which we can refer you. Our network takes some of the stress out of doing contractor research by providing options that best match your project.
Phase Four
Material Selection & Cost Budgeting
Material selection is a big part of a project because it defines how the project will look. However, it is vital to keep your budget in mind so that you don't overspend. You can view different products and styles in application at our Design Centre in Stoney Creek. We also have internal Product Sales Specialists for trim and doors, windows, and siding products, so we can special order or even custom order for you.
Phase Five
Project Expectations
The final phase is preparing yourself for reality. While it is good to have high expectations, it is equally important to understand that pitfalls can arise throughout the building process. Recognizing potential issues and setbacks and providing full awareness is essential to mitigating risk and ensuring a smooth timeline as a team.
It is also important to note that your account manager will be your point of contact for communications between the lumber yard, project trades, architects, engineers, designers, and more. Your account manager will also handle deliveries and coordinating special order products. Providing experienced professionals for your project is imperative to the trust and faith Turkstra provides when you work with us.
