Remembering Our Friend & Colleague
We’d like to invite you to join us in celebrating the life of our dear friend and colleague, Steve Richards. He was a cherished member of our team and built strong relationships with so many of our customers. We know he became a trusted and familiar face to all who worked with him throughout his 25+ years at our Hamilton branch before his sudden passing on August 12.
We’ll be hosting a BBQ in Steve’s memory and would love if you can join to support the family:

Time: 11 am – 2 pm
This will be a casual and heartfelt event, filled with good food, shared memories, and the opportunity to come together in support of Steve’s family. All proceeds from the BBQ will go to Steve’s family, specifically his two teenage daughters. If you’d like to contribute further, there will be an opportunity to make additional donations during and after the event. All donations made will be matched by Turkstra up to $50,000.

For 25+ years, Steve was a valued member at Turkstra Lumber, spending the entirety of his career at the Hamilton branch where he became renowned for his character and service.
Known for his dedication and strong work ethic, he took great pride in what he did and truly enjoyed showing up each day. The friendships he built over the years ran deep, grounded in trust, laughter, and a shared commitment. His colleagues could always rely on him—not just for his skill and dependability, but also for the humor, generosity, and warmth he brought to everyone around him.
